At Blackfoot Aviation we have a vision for the general aviation culture at Missoula. We seek to see community built around a common passion. We want more small planes, not less. More events, more safety meetings, and more flight clubs. We strive to see the next generation of pilots and enthusiasts have access to the world of aviation, regardless of financial barriers. Of course, one way we can do this is to offer a place of repair, conversations, and timely accessibility.

Meet the Team
Kendon Campbell
Owner
Kendon grew up and got his pilots license in the PNW before moving permanently to Montana. He graduated from the University of Montana in 2018 and loves spending his time hunting, exploring wild places, and flying. He believes one of the greatest rewards in life is building relationships with people who share similar passions. Kendon also runs the Kia dealership in Missoula and resides in Potomac with his wife, Camilla, and golden retriever Busch.
Joe Featherly
Shop Foreman & IA/A&P
Joe Featherly was born in Missoula Montana but moved to Alaska at the age of 5. With both parents teaching in a remote Eskimo village, he was exposed to bush planes and GA at a young age. He moved back to Montana a decade later to finish his formal education and graduated from Spartan’s School of Aeronautics with his A&P license. From then on he has juggled various roles in both aviation and automotive across Montana and Washington state. In 2000 he opened his own repair business and went on to earn his IA and pilot license. Joe owns and flies a 1959 Cessna 182, and when he is not in the air or turning wrenches, he is active in his church community and helping those who have an engine and need an expert.
Jake Culver
A&P
Jake was born and raised in the Flathead Valley and therefore grew up doing what most Montana boys do best: hunting, fishing, and tinkering on his pick-up. His love for the outdoors and turning wrenches naturally brought him into the world of general aviation. He received his training and A&P certificate through a 30-month apprenticeship in a hands-on environment in Stevensville MT. He quickly made many strong connections and friendships in the tight-knit community of general aviation. Being a part of the Blackfoot Aviation team is the perfect opportunity for him to provide exceptional service and maintenance to our customers and continue to build long-lasting relationships with members of the GA community in Northwestern Montana.”

James earned his wings in 2019 after too many years of saying “I’ll be a pilot someday”. Now as a flight instructor, James is passionate about teaching students how to fly safely and enjoy the amazing privilege of flying over Montana's Big Sky Country. Beyond the cockpit, James is president and co-founder of the Lake Missoula Flight Club, an international best-selling author of two training guides, and an electronics geek. Originally from Seeley Lake, he resides in Missoula with his wife, Kate, balancing his time between aviation, hiking, audio/video integration, and growing the local flying community.
